Betika Sports Betting Rules

1. INTRODUCTION

These Betting Rules are subject to the General Terms and Conditions and shall be read in conjunction with those provisions found here.

2. REGISTRATION

To be eligible for play, You must have a registered account with Betika. You can register as follows:-

3. DEPOSITS

3.1. Online Deposit: To deposit online, log into your Betika account at www.betika.com/et, click on ‘Profile’ or ‘my account’ and key in the desired amount you want to deposit. The pin prompt should appear on your mobile phone.

4. DEFINITION OF BETTING TERMS

𑇐 Bet: The staking of money on the prediction of the outcome of a sporting event offered by us. A bet can include one or more predictions. A bet on one outcome is a single. A bet on many different outcomes is a multiple.
𑇐 Odds or Price: The return on the money staked should the prediction recorded in a Bet be correct. A winning price of 2 would return double the stake to the customer.
𑇐 Customer: Anyone placing a bet with Betika or any other services hosted or sponsored by said company.
𑇐 User: Anyone using the Betika services offered on our various platforms
𑇐 Full time (FT): The point when the official 90 minutes of a full match has elapsed plus any 'Injury Time' that the referee chooses to add and shall NOT include scheduled extra time (two half times of 15 minutes each), penalty shoot-outs etc.
𑇐 Void: This means that for one reason or another the bet is not acceptable to Betika. In these cases, this bet is settled at the price of 1. In the case of a single bet this would mean the stake is returned to the Customer.
𑇐 Abandoned Game: Abandoned games will be deemed to be games which do not reach their natural conclusion on the calendar date/time.
𑇐 Extra Time: This is a period of time in a sports game in which play continues if neither team has won in the usual time allowed for the game, including injury time, where a winning result is required for advancement to the next stage of a specific competition or tournament.
𑇐 Injury time: This is the period of time added to the end of a football game because play was stopped during the match when players were injured or for any reason that the referee saw fit. This is the added time after 90 minutes of normal play. Some matches may have a FT period of eighty (80) minutes or LESS as per FIFA regulations. Such matches include; U/16, U/17, Women Seniors etc.
𑇐 Live bet: This is a bet placed when the game is in-play or regular time has begun. Live bets cannot be cancelled once made.
𑇐 Single bet: Single bet is a bet placed on just one selection or market. When placing single bets, your return will not depend on the outcome of several matches
𑇐 Multi bet: This is a bet placed on several selections or markets. When placing multi bets, the return depends on the outcome of all the matches within the bet.
𑇐 Postponed/Cancelled Match: Postponed/cancelled games will be deemed to be games which do not get to kick off on the specified calendar date but have been scheduled to take place at a later date
𑇐 Regular/Normal Time: This is the period of time, which includes injury time, over which a sport is played and is set out as the normal duration of play within a sport’s rules. This period does not include extra time
𑇐 Retired Match: When a match is incomplete as the result of one player it is considered a "Retired" match. For example, when one of the players in a tennis match withdraws or is disqualified

5. PLACING A BET

5.1 As a registered customer, you can bet on a variety of sporting events, either before a match or in-play, by accepting a published bet offer.

5.2 Every bet placed is an agreement between the client and Betika, entitling the client to the payout of winnings following from the bet offer in the case of a win, and Betika to the stake of the client’s bet in the case of a loss.

5.3 You cannot make a bet exceeding your player account balance.

5.4 Bets shall be taken for the outcome of regular time unless otherwise noted in the bet type description

5.5 Where there is a dispute on the validity of a bet or event for any reason, the result of adjudication by a National Lottery Regulatory Commission officer shall be considered as the final result or outcome of that particular bet or event.

5.6 Live bets may be voided for the acceptance of a bet where the real time result has already occurred or been effected. This is because the nature of betting is to correctly predict the occurrence of a future event, meaning that a live bet is automatically invalid if the event has already occurred. The nature of a live bet is the anticipation/prediction of a result in-play before it occurs. Where a bet is accepted erroneously if the result has already occurred, or is different from the official real time result of the governing body of a particular league or event, or after the selected participant or team has gained a material advantage, Betika reserves the right to void the bet and refund a customer’s stake accordingly.

5.7 Betika aims to ensure that all the information displayed on our site is accurate, however, such information is to be used as a guide only. Betika assumes no liability in the event of any particular information being incorrect (e.g: date, time, score, results etc.) Acknowledging that speed and accuracy are key elements to ensuring that live results/outcomes are accurate and up to date, and while every effort is expended by us to ensure that the information is updated as soon as possible, Betika will not be held liable for any delay in the upload/update of any official result(s). This includes any delay brought about by confirmations undertaken via the video assistant referee technology as the time period after which an update is provided is the sole responsibility of the official governing or regulating body

5.8 How to Place a Bet

a) Online: Log in to your Betika account here and proceed to place a bet on your preferred sport using the available markets.

6. LIMITATION ON BET AMOUNTS

Note: All bet amounts reflected in this clause are gross figures and subject to applicable taxes.

a) Minimum Bet: The minimum betting amount for a single/multi bet is ETB. 5
b) Maximum Bet: The maximum betting amount for a Live/pre-match single/multi bet is ETB.

7. WITHDRAWALS

7.1 Withdrawal Channels

You can withdraw a desired amount from your account balance as follows:

a) Online – Log onto your profile on the Betika Website, click withdraw and follow the prompts.

b) Shops –

1.   Log onto your profile

2.   Select SHOP from the withdrawal method list

3.   Enter the amount you wish to withdraw (min 300ETB) and click on withdraw

4.   You will receive a withdrawal request code notification

5.   Head to a Betika shop and provide your phone number and the withdrawal code

6.   The cashier will confirm and proceed with the payment

7.2. Maximum and Minimum Withdrawable Amounts

𑇐 The minimum withdrawable amount is ETB. 50.
𑇐 The maximum withdrawable amount per day (i.e. twenty-four hours after the last withdrawal) is ETB. 70,000

o Online:

𑇐   min withdrawal: 50ETB

𑇐   MAX withdrawal: 70 000ETB per transaction, the daily limit depends on each provider (1million is the legal limit)

o Shops:

𑇐   Min withdrawal: 300ETB

𑇐   MAX withdrawal: 70 000ETB per transaction, with a daily limit of 1million ETB

8. LIMITATION ON PAYOUTS

𑇐   The maximum payout per sportsbook bet is ETB. 1,000,000 and a cumulative total of ETB. 2,000,0000 per day.

9. BET CANCELLATION

𑇐   You can cancel a bet within fifteen (15) minutes after placing the be.

𑇐   Bets can only be canceled before the kick-off time of a match(es) in the bet selection.

𑇐   A newly registered Betika customer is only eligible for cancellation after the placement of the fourth bet.

𑇐   The maximum number of bets that can be cancelled in a day is three (3).

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to cancel any bet at any time.

𑇐   The following bets CANNOT be cancelled: Live bets, all Jackpot bets and Combo Bets.

𑇐   All other bets can be cancelled through the following channels:

Online: To cancel a bet, click on the ‘My Bets’ option or ‘Bet History’ and on the specific Bet Id you wish to cancel within fifteen minutes of placing the bet. The “CANCEL” option will stillbe active, allowing you to cancel the bet.

10. VOID BETS

In sports betting, a "void bet" means that a bet will no longer pay out and you will get your original stake returned to you. Bets shall be voided in the following instances:

𑇐   We suspect that You have engaged in any Prohibited Activities;

𑇐   You have breached any of these Terms or the general terms as set out here;

𑇐   There is a technological/palpable error related to the Service or placing of Your bet;

𑇐   We are required to do so by any law or regulation.

𑇐   For any other reason determined by Betika at our discretion

11. LATE BETS

Bets can only be placed on the outcome of a future event, unless we are offering special 'betting in-running prices' for that event. If Betika mistakenly and erroneously accepts a bet for an event that has already started then the bet will be void and your stake returned, except in the following circumstances:

Where bets are taken after the start of an event, bets will stand if nothing has happened which would significantly alter the chances of the selection winning or losing.

All bets placed after the result of an event is known will be void win or lose.

Internet bets include bets placed on any of our remote channels including our website. In the case of such bets, the bet is struck when a bet ID or receipt exists in our back end systems or database. We may refuse to take bets placed if they are deemed, at our sole discretion, wrong or mistaken

12. ACCEPTANCE AND VALIDATION OF BETS

All football bets will be settled on 90 minutes’ play (also referred to as Full-time and normal time). This denotes the period of play which includes time added by the Referee for injuries and other stoppages. This does not include scheduled extra time, or Penalty shoot-outs, if played.

In matches where penalty shoot outs or extra time are due to take place, all bets are settled on 90 minutes unless an Outright price is specifically requested and confirmed at the time the bet is placed.

Where Betika have not quoted prices on a match, any single bet on that match will be void and treated as a non-runner in multiple bets.

If any team starts a 90-minute competitive game with less than 11 players, all bets on that match will be made void

13. RESULTS

In the case of Football and other Sports, bets are settled on the official result published by the relevant event managers or result handlers 3 to 24 hours after the match/event is finished. If the result is not immediately available from an official channel, then the result published by the official governing body immediately the match/event is finished will be used for settling purposes. Any subsequent corrections or amendments to this result will not apply for settlement purposes. Betika will settle all bets rapidly but because of time differences, for some events, bets may be settled overnight or with some delay.

14. JACKPOTS

Daily Jackpot Rules

𑇐   You can place a bet with either ETB. 20 or a Bonus equivalent of ETB. 20.

𑇐   The Jackpot prize is ETB.100,000 to be shared amongst all winners.

𑇐   If 3 or more games are postponed, all bets placed are voided and your stake is refunded.

𑇐   If one game is postponed, we divide the prize by 3, if two games are postponed the prize is divided by 9

𑇐   The number of games in the Daily Jackpot is fixed at 9.

𑇐   All results are from official competition Websites e.g. the EPL website

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to reverse the settlement of a Daily Jackpot if the bet or a selection within the bet is settled in error.

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to accept or decline any bet requested for any competition or market or bet type that is included in the Daily Jackpot.

𑇐   You cannot cancel a Daily Jackpot Bet

Weekly Jackpot Rules

Players will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them when entering this competition;

𑇐   The bet amount is fixed at 10 Birr.

𑇐   Maximum Jackpot bets are unlimited.

𑇐   The Weekly Jackpot prize is fixed at Birr 1,000,000

𑇐   The Jackpot is based on thirteen (13) pre-selected football events which will kick off every Weekend. These games will be available on www.betika.com/et/

𑇐   At the end of the last match in the Jackpot list, once the correct outcomes of all the 13 matches have been acquired, the Jackpot winner(s) will be the ones who have predicted 13/13.

𑇐   There will be jackpot bonuses for 11/13 and 12/13 correct predictions. The amount will be shared equally among all the winners.

𑇐   Jackpot bets are accepted five (5) minutes before the scheduled kick-off of the first football match of the Jackpot.

𑇐   The Jackpot amount is to be divided equally amongst all the Jackpot winners

𑇐   Where one or more jackpot game is cancelled, an official public draw shall be carried out within 72 hours from the time of cancellation, to determine the result of the missing game result.

𑇐   If a match is abandoned or postponed from its scheduled date/time but is then rescheduled to take place no later than the advertised kick-off time of the last match on the list, then provided the match is played to completion at the re-arranged time, all selections will stand.

𑇐   In all cases of postponements, cancellations, suspensions of matches, the local date and time of the event is taken into account (local time). The official kick off of every match is the last officially publicized time by Betika. Therefore, any subsequent time publicized, supersedes any previous and is henceforth considered the new official kick off time of the match.

𑇐   Betika will use each winner’s, and each entrant’s personal details for the purpose of administering this competition. By entering this competition, players agree that Betika and its business partners may use the details provided by the player to contact them about its products and services and for marketing purposes.

𑇐   All 3-way jackpot bet selections should be confirmed before placing a bet, as once submitted, jackpot bets cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded.

𑇐   The official results of the Weekly Jackpot will be announced on the website www.betika.com/et/ and all available Social Media platforms.

𑇐   After a period of three (3) months from the draw of the winning bet combination, any prize claim is void.

15. COMBOBET

Is a bet-builder betting tool that lets you create your winning combination then place your pre-match bet on any sport event.

𑇐   Minimum bet amount is ETB. 5, maximum is ETB. 5,000

𑇐   You can combine all markets in the same or different matches

𑇐   You can’t combine a combobet! with normal bets

𑇐   It can only be used for pre-match bets

𑇐   Bets are resulted real time

𑇐   There’s no limit on markets that can be included on a combobet!

𑇐   If a market in a combobet! is void, the affected market will be settled with an odd of 1.0 and the rest of the active markets within the combobet! will be settled.

𑇐   Player to score, first yellow card, which player will score first, GG/NG, over, total number cards...resulted after 90 minutes

𑇐   Total number of corner kicks, first corner kick resulted after end of match including extra time

𑇐   When there are no yellow cards or corner kicks, that market is void

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to reverse the settlement of a combobet! if the bet or a selection within the bet is settled in error.

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to accept or decline any bet requested for any competition or market or bet type that is included in the combobet! feature.

𑇐   Betika reserves the right to amend, suspend or remove the combobet! feature (or any part of it) at any time for any event, fixture, market or customer.

16. IDENTITY OF CUSTOMERS

Your mobile phone number is your identity. The identity of Customers is determined by mobile phone number. We strongly encourage all Customers to sign up for identity programs administered by the mobile phone companies and by the Government of Ethiopia or any other identity program. We use mobile phone numbers to uniquely identify Customers and their account details. If transactions are made via your phone by someone who is not the registered user, the registered user will remain liable for their transactions. In addition, we cannot do account transactions for accounts which are not identical to the phone number. This means that you cannot, for example, ask to be paid out on a different number other than the number you have placed a bet with; also you cannot send money to us and request that this is placed in a different account. In addition to your phone number, your initial transaction will initiate the creation of a virtual account or mobile wallet to which all monies added to the cause of betting will be held.

Note: This is not a standard banking account, and it shall not be used to keep money other than the use to place bets. Funds held in your account shall not attract interest.
